Frequently asked questions

Short answers about how DocHound works. For how we handle data, read our approach to security.

What is DocHound?

DocHound is a records pipeline for personal injury firms. It checks the authorization form before a medical records request goes out, sends the request to the right department by the right method, and follows up on a schedule until the records arrive.

Who is it for?

Personal injury firms, and the paralegals, case managers and attorneys who request and chase medical records for their cases.

What does the authorization check catch?

It checks the client name, the date range, the provider name, the expiration date, the signature, and the required language. When something is missing or wrong, you see it before the request is sent.

How does DocHound know where to send a request?

It tracks the department and the method each hospital or provider uses to receive records requests, and routes yours accordingly.

What happens when a provider does not respond?

Every request has a schedule. DocHound sends status checks, escalation letters and other notices as they come due, and your team can see what has gone out and what is next.

Does DocHound replace our staff?

No. It takes over the checking, routing and chasing so the people on your team can spend their time on cases.

Is DocHound available now?

DocHound is in early testing with personal injury firms. Request a demo and we will tell you where things stand.

Does DocHound give legal advice?

No. DocHound is software, not a law firm. Your firm remains responsible for the content and legal sufficiency of every records request.
